Childhood
What sparked the boys interest in science you might ask? Well, you're going find out!
It was partly because their Mother was very good in math. They also had some meetings with science when they were young. Here are a few of them:
- When Wilbur was 10 and Orville was 6, they wanted a sled. So their Mom designed one for them but made it much more streamlined than the other sleds so it went much faster.
- A year after, when their father was on a trip he bought them a toy "helicopter" made of cork, bamboo and paper. That not only increased their interest in science but was also the moment that changed their lives and the world's history.
- When they were a bit older,(18 and 22) they designed and built a printing press.
